The IJGlobal podcast – Infra Dig – makes a late start to 2023 with its first episode, this one focused on the digital infrastructure opportunity in Africa.

Damilola Agbaje, investment director at African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM), speaks to IJGlobal editorial director Angus Leslie Melville to talk through the potential for investment across the continent.

In a far-ranging discussion, Damilola takes the listener through the investment potential across telecoms towers as Africa leapfrogs fixed line, through to fibre optic networks and data centres.

Given his experience on the ground, Damilola is ideally placed to discuss the digital infra market having joined AIIM in 2013 to support the pan-African investment team with origination and execution of transactions, primarily in West Africa.

Damilola also provides regional support across all aspects of the business and was a member of the transaction team executing AIIM funds’ investment into Starsight Power Utility, Amandi Energy, IHS Towers and Azura-Edo IPP.

Prior to joining AIIM, Damilola worked in Jefferies’ M&A group in New York City where he executed transactions across sectors, including infrastructure.
