Advisers hired for Utah uni student housing P3

The University of Utah has hired advisers for its on-campus student P3 housing project, IJGlobal has learnt.

The procuring authority has tapped Brailsford & Dunlavey as technical adviser along with Snell & Wilmer and Ashurst as legal advisers, according to a project spokesperson at the university.

The university issued 2 RFPs earlier this year (January 2023) to bring on board a team of advisers for its student housing P3 project.

The University of Utah is the state’s flagship institution for higher education, with 18 schools and colleges and an enrollment of more than 34,000 students.

Through the on-campus housing project, the university aims to increase student head count and create a community-focused campus over the next 5-6 years.

The project objectives are:

  • build 5,000 on campus undergraduate student beds, focused primarily on freshman
  • generate revenue for the university
  • establish a pedestrian spine connecting housing in Fort Douglas and the other student housing communities
  • strengthen and activate the South Campus with retail, dining, entertainment, services, and recreation
  • construct new student dining and recreation amenities to accommodate all new students
