Autumn deadline for UK hospital DBF
Bidders have until 14 October (2022) to submit requests for qualification (RFQs) to compete on the £323 million ($372m) design, build finance (DBF) of Kent and Canterbury Hospital.
East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust recently launched the tender on the UK government portal, seeking interested parties to extend the healthcare facilities.
At the time of publication, the tender could be accessed here…
The trust is seeking a developer to DBF a new-build extension to the existing Kent and Canterbury facilities to the extent of around 60,000 square metres, including supporting infrastructure and access arrangements at Merton Lane, Ethelbert Road and Nackington Road.
The developer can also acquire land for independent development – around 9.22 hectares – adjacent to hospital development site from Kent County Council and Canterbury City Council.
Work is expected to take 4 years and the equipment will be procured under a separate tender. The O&M element will be carried out by the public sector.
